This page isn't here to give you a fluffy story, pumice stone is a rough volcanic rock that is perfect for grinding excess skin off your feet!

How the Pumice Stone helps your feet:

  • Good for regular use to stop skin thickening which reduces the chance of your heels cracking.
  • Fantastic for maintenance, once cracks and very thick skin have been sorted use this when needed to stop thick skin coming back.
  • Natural and reusable, they last a long time and can be used in the shower.

Heels sore and need the full solution? Grab the Sole Saver Kit it has everything you need — Skin Shaver + Heel Rescue Balm + Moisture-Locking Heel Socks and this Pumice Stone. Kit is cheaper than individual components.

Results

Most people notice smoother, more comfortable heels in 7–14 days with consistent use and significantly better after 30 days of using the Sole Saver Kit.

Directions

  1. Soak your feet in warm soapy water for 5–10 minutes (shower works fine). Personally I use the Pumice stone when I take my boots off and the skin is still soft.
  2. Hold the pumice stone and use light to medium pressure in circular motions on the thick, rough areas only — mainly heels and sides of feet.
  3. Stop if it stings or you hit a fissure. Never go hard on open or deep cracks.
  4. Rinse feet and the stone well under hot water. Shake off excess and let the stone dry completely in a well-ventilated area.
  5. Straight away, apply a generous layer of Heel Rescue Balm. Pull on clean Moisture-Locking Heel Socks and leave it overnight.
  6. Repeat 1–2 times a week or as needed for maintenance.

FAQ

Can I use this on deep cracked heels?
Use it gently on the thick build-up around the cracks, not directly in the fissures. The Heel Rescue Balm helps heal the actual cracks once the dead skin is under control.

How often should I use it?
1–2 times a week is plenty for most people. More than that can irritate the skin, you will feel it if the skin is getting too thin.

Pumice stone vs metal foot file/shaver?
This natural pumice is gentler and excellent for regular maintenance and areas near fissures. Some blokes with very heavy calluses prefer the Skin Shaver for initial removal.

Is it good for elbows and hands too?
Yes — same gentle exfoliation works on rough elbows or work-hardened hands for sure. The Heel Rescue Balm can technically be used on your hands and elbows also

EB

Ethan

Builder

“Fifteen years on the tools and my heels were proper rough — thick skin, cracks that stung every morning. Did the full process exactly as told: warm soak to soften, Skin Shaver on short light strokes to clear the dead stuff, then thick layer of the tallow balm and cotton socks every night. After 9 days the cracks had closed up and I could walk without dragging my feet.”

JD

Josh

Dairy Farmer

“Dry wind and long days in the paddocks had my heels cracked bad — jandals one minute, gumboots the next. Followed Taylors advice and used the heel shaver to get rid of the skin, followed by the balm and socks. Skin is looking and feel much better.”

SN

Diane

Nurse

“Twelve-hour shifts wrecked my heels every winter, mainly when the skin dried out. Pharmacy creams never lasted. Followed the Sole Shield process: soak to soften, Skin Shaver to clear the thick skin, then balm with socks every night. After a month the splitting stopped and my heels felt miles better. Balm smells great too!”

DR

Dean

Road Works

“Long shifts with the crew sealing roads and standing on hot asphalt wrecked my heels — thick skin splitting in my boots every day was brutal. Followed the Sole Shield process: soak to soften, Skin Shaver to clear the build-up, then Heel Rescue Balm with cotton socks overnight. The process works well and I use the pumice stone regularly to stop it thickening again.”
